Add a frequency condition to control how often an item is displayed over a set period. You can choose to base the frequency on the number of loops of the main sequence or choose to display the item randomly based on a defined probability.
You can add a condition to a stack item or to a library item. Conditions added to library items will be carried into any sequence the item is added to, but a condition added to a stack item will only be applicable when the item is in that specific sequence.
To add a frequency condition to a stack item:
- Sign in to the admin interface.
- On the top menu bar, click Sequences.
- On the Sequences tab, click the Open button () to expand a sequence item.
- Move the cursor over the stack item you want to schedule and click the Options button ().
- Select Edit from the pop-up menu to display the Stack item dialog.
- On the Stack item dialog, click the Condition tab.
- Click Build new condition to display the Build new condition dialog.
- Click Frequency. The dialog changes to reflect the selection.
- Select how you want to control the frequency:
- Click Display based on loop number and then select a number between 2 and 10 from the dropdown list to define the number of loops of the main sequence. The item will be displayed once for every number of loops specified.
For example, if you select 2, then for every two loops of the main sequence, the item will be displayed once. - Click Display randomly and then select a percentage from the dropdown menu. The item will be displayed based on a probability of this percentage for each loop of the main sequence.
- Click Display based on loop number and then select a number between 2 and 10 from the dropdown list to define the number of loops of the main sequence. The item will be displayed once for every number of loops specified.
- Under Sequence duration, enter the length of the main sequence. You can then see how many times the item will be displayed in an hour, a day, or over a 30 day period.
- Click Apply to save the condition and close the dialog.
